More than at any time in our history, our life is driven by science—we depend on it in nearly every aspect of our lives.  During the ’80’s I completed a number of assignments for Popular Mechanics magazine for their “new technology.”  I illustrated photographically the new processes of neutron cancer treatment, the enormous power of nuclear magnetic resonance, and the groundbreaking opportunities to be had from harnessing the output of super-conductive magnetic technology.  I spent time in scientific clean rooms as well as hospital operating rooms and learned good ways to make my images without disturbing the work in progress…or at least not disturbing more than necessary.
