DUSK ‘TIL DAWN

Part of growing up on a farm was the idea that things had to be done each day, every day, and that nothing could get in the way of getting them done.  Animals have to eat and be cared for every day, no matter how cold or nasty the weather or how many things you would rather be doing.  Further, we grew everything those animals ate and grew everything we ate.  Plowing and planting, cutting and harvesting were always extremely weather-sensitive, and when hay was in the field you simply didn’t stop until it was in the barn…period.  I still love agriculture.   And I still appreciate the lessons I learned growing up on a farm.
